Artikkeli pyrkii tunnistamaan ja analysoimaan sanaleikkejä sellaisena kuin ne näyttäytyvät kotimaisessa nykyrunoudessa, sekä etsimään kirjallisia syitä niiden käyttöön. Fokuksessa ovat kirjain- ja äänneperustaiset sanaleikit. Artikkelissa keskitytään anagrammiin (kirjainten järjestyksen vaihdokset), paragrammiin (kirjainmuunnokset, -virheet) ja spoonerismiin (sananmuunnokset) ja rinnastetaan niitä sellaisiin sukulaisilmiöihin kuin palindromi (kirjaimistoltaan symmetriset tekstit), paronomasia (monimerkityksinen sanaleikki), tai neologismit (uudissanat). This essay focuses on the various forms of narrating, mediating, and interpreting selves within and around a book object, the novel S. (2013) by J. J. Abrams and Doug Dorst. The novel S. is an experiment in producing a deceivingly realistic replica of a maltreated library book object, but its discursive practices also rely on familiar literary forms, harking back to epistolary commonplaces, as well as to marginalia, both ancient and modern. The book object S., which carries the text of the novel-within-a-novel, the readers' multilayered markings, and paraphernalia, forms an archive dramatizing the workings of memory, thought, and emotion. In this chapter, I discuss the dissident poetics in Neuromaani (2012), an excessive Finnish experimental novel by Jaakko Yli-Juonikas (b. 1976). I examine how and what kind of, in-betweeness is produced in the novel that both harbours dissident literary modes and, at the same time, exposes the always-already murky undercurrents of the so-called mainstream and the current capitalist ‘system’. First, I introduce Neuromaani, its composition, themes, context, background and reception. After that, I lay out the theoretical background of my reading: the concepts of actual, virtual and repetition. The Black Block : Opaque Page as a Graphic Device

The black block, a rectangle of black printing ink on the page of a book, surrounded by blank margins, is a peculiar graphic device. Its literary tradition has usually been considered to start from Tristram Shandy, which includes a renowned black page in memory of “poor Yorick”. Nevertheless, Sterne’s gimmick can be seen as an allusion to an older typographical tradition of the so-called mourning pages, which were featured in books remembering the departed decades before Tristram Shandy. Teos hyödyntää tekstuaalisia strategioita, jotka tekevät ääniä yksilöivän paikantamisen ja kokemuksellisuuteen perustuvat tulkinnat lähes mahdottomiksi.
